Brunswick County ULV Calibration Workshop

 Brunswick County Operation Services is offering a two day Mosquito Control Workshop open to all mosquito personnel in NC.  This is a 2 day training course.  The first day will consist entirely of classroom training.  See the agenda below. 

The second day is strictly for ULV mosquito sprayer calibrations.  If you need category B continuing education credits come for the first day.  If you need to get your mosquito sprayer calibrated come the second day.  Or come for both days. 

There is no fee associated with attending this workshop.

The North Carolina Mosquito and Vector Control Association (NCMVCA) will host a workshop July 11-12, 2017 at the Pitt County Agricultural Extension Center (403 Government Circle, Greenville, NC).

Current NCMVCA Members are invited to attend this two day workshop. Day One (July 11, 2017) of the workshop is free to NCMVCA members (lunch is provided to attendees) that register by the deadline of June 19, 2017. Day Two (July 12, 2017) will cost $50 for members and will include a basic half-day larval mosquito identification course focused on container ovipositing mosquitoes.

We will apply for both pesticide applicator and REHS continuing education credits.

Note that the mosquito identification course (Workshop Day 2 – July 12, 2017) will be on a first come, first served basis, due to the availability of microscopes/specimens (up to 20 participants).

Pesticide Certification Classes:
 
Anyone who operates a ULV machine or applies larvicides should have a NC Pesticide Applicator License in Category B (public health).
 
Classes and certification are offered through NC Dept. of Ag.  Please contact the Pesticide Section at 919-733-3556 for more information.

Every year the vendors offer training workshops across the state.  In addition to obtaining continuing education credits for Category B, Public Health Pesticide Applicator’s License, these workshops are an excellent way to meet and network with other mosquito control professionals in the area.
